Just off the Plaza Mayor is this gorgeously restored cast-iron market building reborn a few years ago as the city's prime gourmet grazing spot. A few vendors still sell vegetables, dried pastas, and other produce, but most stalls now serve ready-to-consume delicacies like anchovy-stuffed olives, jamon ibérico, oysters, and caviar along with glasses of champagne to wash it all down. The market is wildly popular, so try to come at off hours like late morning or mid-afternoon, when most Spaniards have already moved on to lunch.
